About the Los Gatos Community Center Project

Many towns in the bay area have a modern, intergenerational community center - but not Los Gatos.

Starting in 2023 a dedicated group of local citizens formed an organization, Los Gatos Thrives, with a plan to create the perfect community center for Los Gatos.  We quickly built a team, began research, and started engaging with town residents.

As we visited community centers in towns such as Los Altos, Palo Alto, Saratoga, Morgan Hill, and Mountain View, we discovered a community center is an essential part of any town. And we determined that our existing (small) buildings do not match up.

A community center unlocks the potential of a town.  As we engaged with residents, clubs, groups, and organizations we found a consistent theme: Los Gatos is being held back by a lack of facilities

It just makes sense: having great spaces for people and organizations to meet, hold classes, events, and social programs, will expand the number and quality of activities in our town.

Research shows community centers strengthen social connections, reduce isolation, and improve the health and well-being among those who participate (1).

Centers are a long-term town asset that benefit multiple generations.  Los Gatos needs a well-designed, well-run center targeted to meet the needs of our community.  We hope you join with us to make this happen.
